Creative Industries Fund NL’s Programme during Salone del Mobile
From 14 to 19 April 2015, Creative Industries Fund NL will be present during Salone del Mobile, one of the most important international fairs for interior and product design. The Fund is supporting more than 30 designers and collectives who are presenting their work at various venues in Milan. The launch will be conducted by the Fund’s director, Janny Rodermond, during the opening of Design Academy Eindhoven’s ‘Eat Shit’ exhibition. The Fund is also organizing a programme in association with the Design Academy in the form of a series of Breakfast Talks. If you happen to be in Milan, then you are most welcome to join us for the grand opening at 11.00 a.m. on Wednesday, 15 April.
Open Call for Participation in Gamescom Cologne 2015
Creative Industries Fund NL and the Dutch Games Association are calling on developers within the games industry to submit a proposal to participate in the Holland Pavilion during Gamescom Cologne 2015. Creative Industries Fund NL and the Dutch Games Association are collaborating with Control Magazine and the Dutch Game Garden to present a programme for young game developers during Gamescom Cologne 2015. The Dutch Games Association is once again responsible for organizing the Holland Pavilion during this year’s Gamescom. Selected participants will have the opportunity to showcase their games at a demo spot in the open section of the Holland Pavilion. Deadline for this Open Call is the 1st of May.
 Vacancy for an assistant secretary for DesignThe Fund is seeking to appoint an assistant secretary for Design, who will contribute to the administration of grants in the field of design. He or she will be jointly responsible for the supervision of applicants and for preparing the meetings of the committees which advise about grants. The final report is about the new Digital Domain programme, which demonstrates how the Netherlands is a trendsetter in the field of new forms of storytelling. Panel sessions and presentations by Daniel Disselkoen of Headmade, a panel discussion with Klasien van de Zandschulp, and a presentation of the Behind the Blue Screen project by Jaap van Heusden and Ruben Pater were highly popular with visitors. |  INTI Conference on African urbanizationThe International New Town Institute (INTI) is organizing the ‘Urban Africa: New strategies for the world’s fastest urbanizing continent’ conference on 7 April 2015. This international conference will explore the current trajectory of African urbanization, with professionals from Europe and Africa presenting their visions on ongoing urban development in Africa. The event will be a crash course for anyone working or interested in Africa. This conference emanates from The Density Project, an investigation of means to increase urban density in Cape Town. |
